Intended scope

A completed Cybersecurity Trends Report would cover, over the prior 12 months: shifts in attacker methodology observed across GhostTrace's own casework, changes in the categories of incidents businesses and individuals are bringing to investigators, and broader industry patterns worth tracking going into the following year.

Planned sections

• Methodology — how findings were sourced (case data, public reporting, industry collaboration) and what's explicitly excluded.
• Attacker technique shifts — observed changes in initial access methods, social engineering pretexts, and monetization patterns.
• Sector-specific patterns — differences in what individuals versus small businesses versus larger organizations are experiencing.
• Defensive gaps — the control failures most frequently associated with the incidents reviewed.
• Outlook — reasoned, clearly-labeled-as-forecast expectations for the coming year, distinct from the report's factual findings.

Why this is a placeholder

GhostTrace does not publish fabricated statistics or invented findings to fill space. This report will be populated once there is genuine, verifiable research behind it. Until then, this page exists to show visitors what to expect from GhostTrace's original research output, and to distinguish clearly between real findings and structural placeholders.
